Start your morning with locally roasted coffee from Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters and Coffee Mania, fresh bagels from NYC, and hearty breakfast sandwiches. By lunchtime, we’re firing up a delicious lineup of burgers, street tacos, grilled cheese, BLT, and refreshing smoothies—perfect for those sunny days on the lake. Whether you’re a meat lover or prefer plant-based options, there’s something on our menu for everyone.
Meet the Owners
Big Boat Café is the passion project of Penny Westbrook and Jay O’Leary (well maybe not so much Jay;), Lansing, NY residents who bring a mix of community roots, entrepreneurial spirit, and creativity to the lake.
Penny, originally from Dryden, recently retired from Cayuga Medical Center after an impactful career in healthcare. She has also owned and operated the Dryden Community Childcare Center and spent years managing and teaching in local health clubs and gyms. Big Boat Café is her exciting next chapter—a “retirement gig” that combines her love of people, food, and community.
Jay brings a diverse background in technology and business. He is the owner of Action XL, Blanketfort Games, and HPM Tech Services, and previously served as Director of IT at Kionix and an instructor at TST BOCES. Jay likes to say he “retired” right out of high school to travel the country and experience life—an outlook that continues to inspire his work today.
Our Story
Big Boat Café started as Penny’s vision: a floating food truck that brings convenience, quality, and fun directly to the water. With Jay’s support, that vision has become a reality.
From lakeside takeout to on-the-water meetups, we’re creating a unique experience for the Cayuga Lake community. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee, a satisfying meal, or just to say hello, we’re excited to serve you.
